250 x 300 rugs: Wide range of colours and styles

Make a bold statement with a 250 x 300 rug – a size designed for spacious interiors. Perfect beneath a large sectional sofa, with space for side tables and armchairs to complete the layout. It’s also an excellent choice for open-plan living areas where you want to define the lounge space without breaking the flow of the room. Not sure if a 250 x 300 rug is the right fit? 250 x 300 rugs: The right fit for bigger rooms

A 250 x 300 cm rug sits within our large rug range – big enough to anchor a full seating area, sit under a six to eight-seat dining table, or frame a super-king bed with space to spare on each side. It’s a natural fit for open-plan living rooms and larger bedrooms, where a smaller rug can look lost on the floor. We stock this size in wool, hand-knotted wool, cotton, polypropylene, and more, so you can match the material to the room.

Frequently asked questions

A 250 x 300 cm rug works best in a large living room (roughly 4 x 5 m and up), an open-plan space, or a super-king bedroom. In smaller rooms it can overwhelm the space, so measure your floor area against the rug before ordering.

Yes – this size comfortably takes a full sofa set-up with a coffee table, and usually leaves enough rug showing at the edges for a balanced look. Aim to keep at least the front legs of your sofa and armchairs on the rug.

It suits a six to eight-seat dining table. Allow 60–70 cm of rug beyond the table edge on each side so chairs stay on the rug when pulled out.

Wool is durable, warm and naturally stain-resistant, making it a reliable all-rounder at this size. Polypropylene is a hard-wearing, affordable synthetic that copes well with heavy foot traffic and is easy to clean, so it suits a busy household. Viscose has a soft, silky sheen that looks luxurious, but it’s less hard-wearing and best kept to lower-traffic rooms.
